Three seasons at the Viennese court

Elisabeth of Bavaria is not built for the Habsburg court, and the court knows it. Her love for Emperor Franz Joseph upends the succession, the protocol and the family around him — while an empire under pressure from within and from Europe demands an heir, a figurehead and a woman who behaves. Katharina Eyssen's series ran for three seasons and became one of Netflix's biggest German-language successes.

Along with other vendors LUGUNDTRUG worked on all three seasons. We built the palaces as full-CG environments — architecture that had to hold up in daylight, in wide shots and next to real interiors — and created the digital animals the story needs, among them a wild boar and a bird, alongside crowd work and set extensions across the run.
