Twelve-year-old Emil Tischbein travels alone to Berlin to spend the summer with his grandmother — and is robbed on the train by a man who is very good at not being caught. What Max Grundeis does not account for is that Emil finds allies within an hour of arriving: a loose gang of city kids who know every backyard, tram line and shortcut. Erich Kästner's classic, filmed again for 2026. We contributed crowd work, matte paintings and a large amount of invisible VFX — the kind of shots that let a chase run across a city without the audience ever wondering how it was assembled.
